  • Sidewalk – Curb & Gutter Replacement | Fairbury, NE

This program was developed in 2016 and is funded with the 1/2 cent sales tax infrastructure funds in an effort to assist with sidewalk and curb & gutter infrastructure repair.

Fairbury’s procedure has been to replace sidewalks and curb & gutters if the city is doing a large sidewalk or street project, we do not budget for individual sidewalk repairs however, legally by ordinance the property owner is responsible to maintain existing sidewalks adjacent to their properties.

When this program was developed, it was with the understanding that concrete repair can be cost prohibitive for some residents and if we could assist with the project it would help the residents to maintain the sidewalks while also saving the city mobilization and administration cost and time for small repairs.

Attached are the program regulations and application, sidewalks are covered up to 50% of the total project cost and curb and gutters are covered at a rate of $35 per linear foot for 30” and $38 per linear foot for 36” curb and gutters.
